How to replace language indicator in URL?

Sorry if this question is answered already but I didn´t found a solution.

My problem: I run a multilingual Joomla 3.1.5 site (with ReDJ 1.7.2 Enterprise) where an English news category are available in ALL languages. I used an extension that do this (even all categories, menus, modules and articles are separate by language) but the offered links contains the language indicator after: index.php.

e.g. German from link is: index.php/de/right-path-to-english-article
should be redirect to the right English link: http://{siteurl}/index.php/en/right-path-to-english-article

Tried a lot, also this former tip:

From URL: ^/index\.php/wrongpath/
To URL: http://{siteurl}/index.php/rightpath/{pathltrim /index.php/wrongpath/}{queryfull}
Request only: true (checked)

but I have no success.

I appreciate if you can help me.

Thanks

No extension - just the builtin function of Joomla 3.1.5

Something more - I activated SEF, URL rewriting and Add Suffix URL under IIS 7.5

The URLs are like (followed your description): www.example.com/path/to/joomla/XX/cat1/catx/article.html with XX = language code (e.g. en, de, ru, it)

I tried: From: /catx - Destination URL: /en{pathfrombaseltrim /de}
but this do not include the path/to/joomla part.

Working with {siteurl} and/or {pathltrim /de} delivers cruel links.

What is my mistake?

To answer your question: Working behind a company firewall which do not allow external access. Cannot give you such links. Sorry.
