I really need basic help with redirects was created by Ribs1
I am a beginner when it comes to web administration. I've read through the instructions on redirecting but I think I must be doing something wrong as my pages come up as errors. I've installed and enabled ReDJ on my Joomla 2.5.6

I want to redirect a current extremely, cumbersome-named page to a simple-named page.
The current page is namedhttp://www.ribasassociates.com/index.php/publications/instructionalpractices-2017-detail

The new name is www.ribasassociates.com/AllAboutTeachers

Which box in the on the form (To or From) would get the new name?
I ask because I've tried this both ways now and neither worked.
Are there placeholders I should be using?

Hi,
create a redirection rule as follow (literally):
From URL: ^/index\.php/publications/instructionalpractices-2017-detail$
To URL: http://www.ribasassociates.com/AllAboutTeachers
Request only: true (checked)

You don't need macros and placeholders for such simple redirections.
