Hi Luigi
I'm having a little trouble getting the right canonical link to show. At the moment, it always shows the current url.
Other head info is coming through, so it seems my other settings are ok. But what do I enter into the "canonical" box?
I've tried:
www.example.com/category/article-title
/category/article-title
category/article-title
None of those seem to work. I want to set the canonical for pages with url's like
www.example.com/component/k2/item/35-article-title but just can't seem to get anything other than the current url to show.
Any other settings, perhaps in the plugin I could have missed?

You should just use the full canonical URL (your first try).
But if this is the last field that doesn't work maybe there's a problem, and I would like to see your settings. Could we schedule a remote session with Team Viewer? If so, send me an email at info(at)selfget.com.
Kind regards,
Luigi

Hi Luigi,
Thanks for getting back to me - you give great support in this forum!
Ah... I'm a little embarrassed. It is working.
I was having trouble getting it to work at all so when it did start working I guess I just didn't notice the new canonical link in there. As it is now, there are two canonical links showing. The bottom one is the correct one (I assume it works like CSS - the last rule is the one that is followed?).
Thanks again, sorry for creating a post for nothing.

No problem, happy to hear it works...
You should try to remove the wrong one (check were is added).
Just for your knowledge, there is also an option "Clean canonical link" in Tag Meta plugin under Advanced Options, that allows to remove any existing canonical, but is available only in the Enterprise version.
Let me know if you still need help.
Kind regards,
Luigi
