Hi!

I've just installed Tag Meta Menager and I was very excited to see it at work.

I've installed component and plugin and I've tried to create a new rule but it seems not working: when I look at the code of my page (www.skipperclub.it/it/blog/tag/addio al nubilato.html) I cant' see the url canonical I've set or my new metadescription.

Where I'm doing wrong?

I add my plugin and component configuration screenshots.

Hope someone can help me, I would really like to use this component!

Thank you!

Hi,
try to enable "decode URL". You have spaces in your rule, but the request on the server has %20 or + so you need to decode back to spaces before to compare.

Also, remember this is a regular expression, so to be perfect you should escape . with \.

Kind regards,
Luigi

Thank you admin!

It's working now!

I'm not sure to have understood clearly:

Also, remember this is a regular expression, so to be perfect you should escape . with \.

Could you please explain?

Thank you again!

Yes,
the field "URL" is not a simple text field to compare with the URL. It can be a regular expression, so you can match multiple URLs with just a single rule. More info here (is related to ReDJ but is the same):

www.selfget.com/documentation/redj-joomla25/create-a-redirection-rule.html

Kind regards,
Luigi

A little off-topic:

I have to insert metadescription in url that has duplicates (metadescription duplicate problem now).

In your opinion, do I have to insert my metadescription only in the canonical url or in all the duplicates?

Thank you in advance!

Hi,
in my opinion, if you have more than one duplicate for a page, you could add a canonical link to the main URL into each alias page. Different meta description are a plus.

If you need more details, just advise.

Kind regards,
Luigi
