canonical filled even when input field is empty

version: tagmeta latest
Leaving canonical field under the meta options blank, does fill the link rel canonical field, while you would expect it to be excluded. Please could you have a look at that.

Hi Peter,
please, first be sure it is not related to Tag Meta. To do this, disable Tag Meta plugin for a while, clean server pages cache and browser cache and reload the page. If the rel canonical is still there, is not related to Tag Meta. COnsider that leaving a field blank just means that Tag Meta will not touch it, but if the field is already set it remains as is...

....adjusted the plugin setting regarding to canonicals and that worked for me.
